I bought this board thinking I would never want to get OS X working on it. A few days ago I got the itch to play around with OS X again (probably spurred on by a recent iPad purchase). Anyways heres my setup:. ASRock P67 Extreme4 Gen3 - Intel i5-2500k - Corsair 16GB DDR3 1600 - Nvidia GTX 260 (My card that I would love to use is an AMD 7950 which has no support) - ALC892 Onboard Audio - Realtek 8111E Gigabit Ethernet The biggest pain to get the installer to boot was the graphics card.

I know there was no problem with the card itself as I did a Hackintosh install on my old Core 2 Duo setup with the same card. With this board unless the graphics card is in a specific PCI-E slot the installer would not work. The slot I had to use was PCIE4 according to the manual, the slot you are most likely to use is PCIE2 which just gave me black screens.

Update

Once I figured that out (must have taken me 3 hours) it was a snap. IBoot + MultiBeast and UpdateHelper was all I needed.

In MultiBeast, I used EasyBeast while adding these drivers: - For the onboard audio I used ALC8XXHDA, AppleHDA Rollback, and Non-DSDT HDA Enabler for ALC892 - For the onboard LAN i used Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx Ethernet Driver - Installed USB 3.0 support - Also I installed PS/2 support, but that's only because I use the best keyboard in the world, the trusty IBM Model M I haven't seen many threads for this board, usually they are for the P67 Extreme4, which doesn't have the PCIE 3.0 switching chips. Some other differences may exist between the two but I'm not certain. I'm going to buy another hard drive and try for a Lion install later. Bayourebel Per your specifications - as your system has only 1 drive and has w7 installed the as the first OS - this created a problem - if this was built by you and you have W7 to reinstall then that is how you want to do it TonyMacx86 has a forum as well as a section on dualbooting W7 on a single drive You may want to find out some information on this - and most likely do a youtube seach on this topic The MAC installer for OSX will need to modify the whole drive to install the bootloader and OSX. The Mac OS is not as fat as windows OS is (must be all those helpfiles) so a you dont need a large partition but you may want to use a standard hard drive as you test vechicle and leave the SSD on the shelf for a while. Do follow the iBoot - Multibeast steps that Tony has spec'd out. You will need a legit copy of os 10.6.3 this is called the retail version not a DVD that was shipped w a mac ( restore DVD).

Do connect your sata drives as follow and do not use Marvell sata ports only the P67 ports which I think you have 6 of - start w the dvd on sata 1 mac hd on sata 2 leave windows off but then done connect to sata 3. You may want to look at some of the following information - But before you do this please look for some YOUtube vids under the name deanwrayUK of these shortcuts. His vid on Best Practice - His vid on Basic Overview His vid on Bootloader flags his youtube channel TonyMac listing of alternative sources for information you may find usefull TonyMac listing of supported video cards that you may find usefull Something usefull about command line switchs one needs to know! Also this needs to be reposted in the desktop system 10.6 support as this thread is dead for follow up totenkopf. My build is almost identical to superorc02's setup, with the exception of a GTX 570 video card that i had to borrow from my housemate (i originally had a Radeon 6950 HD but it didn't work). I also got a successful install with dual displays working out of the box. I can also confirm that the PCIE4 slot was needed instead of PCIE2 (should be labeled on the mobo - its really small).

After Easybeast installation, I kept getting a Kernel panic (something about AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) and either deleting the kext file or using the patched one included in Multibeast fixed the problem. This motherboard doesn't seem to be very common with Hackintosh setups but hopefully this helps someone else who has trouble getting it working. I was able to get Mountain Lion installed with this board, and I had a GTX 570. I had the gpu installed on the first slot that most gpus are always installed into.

The flags I used if I remember correctly were -x -v -GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000 and maybe PCIRootUID=0. I also had Intel Virtualization Technology set to disabled, and downloaded a custom BIOS that was unlocked? I forgot the term. But the BIOS was 1.10. Everything was working fine, I even was able to get USB 3.0 with high speeds. But now that I tried to get Mavericks installed, I think I ruined my system.

Drivers

I can't get into my SSD, or even the USB drive installer no matter what flags I use. Not sure what I did, must have done a step wrong. Main point is it is possible to get an install with this board and have no problems.
