The compatibility mode in Windows 10 did not work for me when changing to Windows 7. I had to finally buy Nero 9 in order to Label my CD/DVD disk.

The only way to get any of the LightScribe programs to install on Windows 10 is to do it in compatibility mode like MWright69 said. Even the diagnostic utility, at a minimum, if it did what you said it does (which it doesn't) would need to be installed that way until it 'registered' the OS correctly - which really the only thing it's there for is to check that you have a drive capable of doing LightScribe - not really anything else. All of the programs will install - even if you have to do them in compatibility mode - EXCEPT for the main one that really matters, the Template Labeler. I tried it in all the modes, even using the 'I don't know' option and it still didn't work.

He also tried to say the Diagnostic tool somehow registers the LightScribe software with the OS when there's only one button on the app that does anything, and that was the one that just tests which drive is your LightScribe one to see if it can find it. Just for S&Gs I tried that, then downloading and installing the Template Labeler just like he said, and it didn't work and got the same error as another guy on here, about the system not being capable of running it - that screenshot a guy posted on here, earlier. You, yourself, are leaving out a ton of steps. Just how do you 'add inside the installer Win 10 as allowed in Windows'? If the installer wasn't allowed, it wouldn't run, and Win 10 isn't a compatibility option, so where are you marking this? Anyway, after doing all the downloading and installing of all the LightScribe stuff and failing, I downloaded Nero CoverDesigner 2017, as it's free and was supposed to have LightScribe compatibility. Well, except I found out when you pull up File Options, and go to the LightScribe tab, it didn't find my drive. So I found another site that said Nero Platinum 2018 supported it.
I downloaded that from the Nero site - a free-to-try software, but I figured maybe it's worth buying if it works. I got the Platinum version. Well after I got that installed, I re-launched Nero CoverDesigner from within the Nero 2018 app. The upgrade had upgraded CoverDesigner to 2018, too. Under Options, on the LightScribe tab, it finally saw my drive.
I was even able to pull up the CD label I had saved before closing it, and then go to File Print LightScribe Label (which wasn't there before). I was able to produce a 'LightScribed' disc after that just fine.
