Have been trying for a week now to get Lync for Mac working for phone calls, but it doesn't work. When I call someone, they hear me, but I don't hear them. I have tried the same USB device (GN9330) on Lync/Windows and it works great. I have made sure that the GN9330 sound devices are chosen in Mac OSX's system prefs - sound, and when I play sound from another app (ie. Youtube), it works well.
It appears that only Lync for Mac has the problem. How to debug this? (As a side note, I am disappointed with the quality of Lync for Mac. Just yesterday I had to spend an hour getting past the EXCBADACCESS bug (removing the unknown certificate), because Lync for Mac didn't work with OSX 10.7.2 update.
There are missing features like tag for status change, audio device wizard, etc. Tim, Yeah, I'm sure the device is working and I suspect we may find it is an interop issue with Lync on Mac?
Just trying to help isolate so we can report to 'the powers that be';-). Once again, i feel your frustration and I hope we can get all the Mac troubles behind asap.

Hi,Tim, A device works with Windows won't guarantee it works with Mac,also it works with other applications on Mac doesn't mean it will work with Lync. If you insist this is Lync issue I will report it to Microsoft Production Team but I have talked to some Microsoft experts and they also consider it's an interoperation issue and suggest to update the firmware at first.Would you please try to install the and update the firmware at first(other than use the default driver)?And this question also relates to Jabra devices,I suggest you ask Jabra Support Service for more help. I tried installing the Jabra software on two different PCs, but on neither one would the firmware updater work - it could never find the device, even though all the other parts of the Jabra software could find it. Very frustrating. If it helps, I could see the firmware was 2.1. Anyways, I give up.

I'll reiterate for one last time that any program that cannot use a standard sound device the same way as every other piece of software on a given OS, is written poorly or has a bug. Microsoft doesn't write poor software, so I'm guessing it's a bug. Every other piece of software on my Mac works flawlessly with this device, except Lync for Mac. Again,some guys told me that he makes 2 Jabra devices work with Mac AFTER updating the firmware while no need for updating to work with Windows.I suggest you contact with Jabra support engineer for troubleshooting this issue.
