Originally developed by Ensemble Studios and re-imagined in high definition by Hidden Path Entertainment, and Skybox Labs, Microsoft Studios is proud to bring Age of Empires II: HD Edition to Steam! I have MacOS sierra and it didn’t work on mine either, because the app was quarantined. You can check yours by doing the following: 1. Open terminal 2. Type in “xattr -l” followed by the path to the app (e.g: xattr -l /Users/kysis208/Desktop/Games/aoeHD/aoeHD.app/Wineskin.app) NOTE: You will probably have to repeat this step for the actual AOE app too.
If you see the word “com.apple.quarantine” anywhere in the result, you’ll have to type in “xattr -d com.apple.quarantine” followed by the path to the app (e.g: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Users/kysis208/Desktop/Games/aoeHD/aoeHD.app/Wineskin.app) NOTE: You will probably have to repeat this step for the actual AOE app too. Note that your game probably won’t launch even after doing all this if wineskin winery is not installed.
Hence, I advice you to download and install the latest winery from the internet before running this game. I am experiencing two problems with this file: first of all, The Unarchiever says there is a corrupted file (which I cannot remember by heart), and it is the same file every time I try to “reunzip”I’ve downloaded the zip here like thrice (mega twice, yesterday and today, and that german Upload site) and it always presents the same problem. That corrupted file The second issue is not having permissions to write do plist somehowI have done everything people wrote here, I cannot update the wrapper because of the “master something” (I am sorry, little experience with Wine). I am using OSX Sierra, if that matter in any way. Thanks in advance, I really want to play this game, it’s so nostalgic and my favourite o the series. Hello, all of this information has been very helpful but I seem to be having a unique problem that someone could help me out with. I have the wineskin attached to an alternative steam application and I had refreshed the wrapper and updated it but its still not working. It was working perfectly fine on El Capitan but when i updated it to Sierra it wont start up.
It says that its running but the screen doesn’t do anything and the boot up process stops. Does anyone know what would cause this and if theres anything I can do about it?
