Although I've happily been using with my Macbok Pro an Apple keyboard from an old Quicksilver tower, I've been spoiled by the MBP's lighted keyboard. I wanted a full-sized keyboard with the same lighting, to use at home in dimmer lighting. This was the only one I could find. After going through the extra steps - and time - of shipping it to a friend for reshipment to me (Amazon couldn't ship it to an APO address), I was very disappointed.
The lighting is great. The speakers weren't bad for what they are, and I wasn't even looking for that feature in a keyboard. The keyboard is mostly plastic, but it seems sturdy enough. A minor annoyance was the loss of the extra USB ports the Apple keyboard had, which caused me to get a small USB hub instead.
A major problem, and completely unacceptable, is the poor typing experience. The key touch feels cheap, somehow; it isn't smooth, there is an initial resistance to pressing the key, and it's a bit noisy.
Worse, the keyboard throws spurious characters when I'm typing. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the world's best typist. I was much better in the old typewriter days. I make plenty of typos on my own; I don't need the keyboard to throw in its own.
Getting a hidden password right is nearly impossible, as proven when trying to log in on Amazon. I type 5 characters; 6 or 7 or 8 show up. I type two words; the first couple of letters in the second word somehow appear in the middle of the first word! Slowing down and typing each character very deliberately helps somewhat, but the problem still exists.
The main use for a keyboard is typing, and this keyboard isn't much use for that. I've put a lamp on my desk and gone back to the old Apple keyboard.

I've put a lamp on my desk and gone back to the old Apple keyboard. A living nightmare. Works just well enough t keep me thinking I've got a keyboard but keeps just stopping. Went through two of them and Verbatim has been no help. When it works it's great, and the backlight, form factor, and speaker setup is too good to pass up. If you're like me and this is the only fix for your setup, this might work, however be aware you are completely on your own.
Verbatim will not support this product under any circumstance day one or day thirty. This is a buyer beware product, just think of it like buying it from a dude on the street. It might be a deal but if it stops working you're hosed.
I had for one for windows version, then I purchased this one for MAC Version, and used it on windows 7, it recognized it just the same, just a few keys are different on a MAC Keyboard than on a Windows Keyboard. You will soon learn the key difference between the two, will both do the same functions.
I spilled soda in the first one and messed it up, it was a version of this for windows, then I replaced it with a mac one, it worked just fine like I said. No guarantee it will work with your windows or operating system, but they did make one for windows operating systems. I love the light-up keys easier to see in the dark, nice speaker sound, and great with headphone set so you want disturb anybody, and microphone has good quality sound. Great for Dark rooms or for the night after dark so you can see the keyboard without turning on any extra lights. Easy to use, turn light on and off feature, sounds great for YouTube, and playing CDs and Movie Sound. Sound Button for extra boost sound, volume adjust buttons. I originally purchased one cause I lived with my parents for a while to keep from turning on the light at night and my dad complaining about the power bill, and disturbing him with the extra light in the house on.
Worked great for that purpose alone. And I like it because it combines much needed speaker with keyboard, eliminating the extra wire in the way concept. And I like it wired so it does not need batteries.
Glad that it has headphone/microphone jack built in.
